Welcome!

I'm developing Town of Galucca from wasteland to a thriving city. On this blog you can join the journey through 200 years. I'll post weekly on the progress, but you will mostly learn about the progress through the stories of local residents. I think there might be 5 generations to go, let's find out! :)

This is a spin-off blog from my Greench Farm legacy.

All my stories (and more) are now gathered from my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Seylouse: Goodbye to those oldies!

[Year count 160]  That's right - those oldies, Andrine and Lodvic Seylouse left for Asia to search more collectible treasures, but ack... they never really succeeded, because now they are both dead. I wasn't expecting not to find them when returning to the Seylouse household. Neither was their son, Louis, apparently...

Louis Seylouse and his wife Meliss are now head of the house, finally Meliss can make decisions without being directed by the old lady of the house. She already did a little redecorating, mostly because they had another child, and ya... days were quite busy...

After the seniors passed, the little family of four tried to do some fun activities regularly, like visiting the parks of Galucca. Old Market is the children's first choice because of the festivals. Right now it's Spring, and Anitra was busy collecting those eggs. Dovic is just a toddler.

And he is such a charming toddler, right? This far a family's main heir would normally be a boy, no matter age. But things are changing, and more and more often the oldest child becomes main heir, regardless of gender. I guess Anitra will be the chosen, unless certain events or interests making it less likely. Time will tell, but I'll have rules for this, surely! :)

Meliss referred to the news. Two more girls had been found up in Moon Mountain, just like the Fogdale girl and the Hydront girl couple years ago. Police says it looks like abductions, which shouldn't really surprise anyone because aliens had been observed in Moon district for ages. Only young adult women were abducted this far, so Anitra should be safe... Hmmm

Galucca still has a problem with the cemetery being full, but a bigger problem is that the head of Church of Similius, Priest Nikodemus Dipperwell, just died! I never saw him as an elder, but he must have turned elderly. But dieing that quickly? What's going on with the old people these days?

Louis stopped by the church to claim a grave for his parents, once again.

He ran into some monks from the Monastery, and got to talk with the oldest Monk, Todd Dipperwell, who is actually the younger brother of the late Priest. Their father had been the founder and first Priest of this church.

A new Priest had been called for. Todd Dipperwell was occupied as soon to be Nestor of the Monastery, and while the Monastery's duty was to train the priests, Todd could not leave behind the Monastery of Similius because the other monks were too fresh. It's quite time consuming serving the church though, a monk even needs to serve the Church of Similius Gift Shop. Today it's monk Lazarus Butterbed working the shop, and it looks like he just sold a stuffed green unicorn to the Moonster seniors.

A grave would not be possible until the new Priest had arrived Galucca...

Louis is now the experienced boss at Seylouse Industries, Inc.. He loves it, and knowing his father built up this factory from nothing, makes him proud! They produce cellulose for the paper industry, newspaper paper mostly. It's Galucca's largest factory! (even polluting a bit more than the others...)

Meliss is an Author, she has already published a few novels but is still awaiting her first bestseller. Instead of occupying their study downstairs, she equipped a room for her writing, up there to the left.

She lacks inspiration most of the time though.

A little later the family gathered in the kitchen for dinner. Louis is no great cook, but he and Meliss do take turns. Meliss prefer playing with the children, but most of the time they won't get her humor. Then she laughs her annoying laughter and it all gets a bit awkward, but hey-ho!

She often end a day at Suzi's Heaven in Old Town. There are waterholes closer to Pettonta Heights where they live, but she always was a regular at Heaven. Tonight she got the sad message from Tonny Baruba, that Suzi herself was dead. Tonny has turned elderly, and I assume he will run this popular spot that his mom founded very long ago.

(I can't believe that I chose pictures from Heaven where those locals I directed to sit at the tables in the background can't be seen! For once the place looked pretty busy, and all my efforts arranging them wasted... well, life goes on in Galucca...

So, off to the next household's update shortly... the Moonster family :)
