Welcome!

I'm developing Town of Galucca from wasteland to a thriving city. On this blog you can join the journey through 200 years. I'll post weekly on the progress, but you will mostly learn about the progress through the stories of local residents. I think there might be 5 generations to go, let's find out! :)

This is a spin-off blog from my Greench Farm legacy.

All my stories (and more) are now gathered from my new blog, Simmerville's Sims.

Pettonta Castle: Unexpected family twists

[Year count: 168]  Lots of stuff happened since we visited the Pettonta Castle 10 years ago. Count Junato is dead, obviously death unexpected as he wasn't really that old. Ex-Countess Maria died too, but that was very much expected. She was found in the underground net of tunnels, searching that hidden Pettonta Gral.

So, Baron Gustav was instated as the new Count, but he is still single so there is no Countess at the moment. He is the youngest Count ever, holding the title before getting married.

One very early morning some time ago, the weirdest stuff happened...

Ex-Countess Constance heard crying at the gate, and when she walked outside, she found that someone had left two toddlers there! They looked same age and could be twins, and they got all black eyes. Constance works as a doctor at Constant Hope Hospital, and she had been following up both the mis-coloured children since the big catastrophe 60 years earlier, as well as some recent alien descending children born by abducted young women. Everyone knew about Constance's love for children.

Constance wanted to prove a good example by keeping one of the toddlers, and named him Fernando, while his twin brother was handed over to the Monastery of Similius. Galucca has many unfortunate residents, carrying abnormal skins or just being poor, and by welcoming Fernando into the noble family, the gap between the Pettontas and the commoners might be smaller.

Count Gustav was not exactly thinking along the same lines as his mother, but when searching a good spouse, he became attracted by a not so easy choice. Patrica Slitcher was rich enough, but not from power or influence. Her old father Bross Slitcher was a famous Athlete some time ago, and Galucca's Bross Stadium even carried his name. But the family was not seen as aristocrats, they even lacked a certain style.

Patrica worked in the Solarium located on the ground floor of the High rise building where the family resides. She is a Virtuoso and great kisser who loves the outdoors, but she is also said to be a technophobic Kleptomaniac. Topping this, she is rather masculine, hardly wearing jewelry or makeup, and never seen wearing a dress. Great choice for a Countess, Gustav.

Gustav and Patica dated, and their favourite spot was the outdoor Swordfish Restaurant at the harbour, strategically located next to the Fish Market. That night Gustav proposed, and...

(No bistro chefs in Galucca yet, so restaurants hardly works, but this wil change soon)

... Patrica approved! She visited Pettonta Castle often, and although Ex-Countess Constance was not so happy with Gustav's choice, Gustav's now adult sister Lincia saw a chance to influence on the future Countship. Btw, Lincia is now engaged to that old man, Count Vladdow of Vladinada. She will move there shortly, knowing it's all arranged to secure the old man's countship.

Little Fernando started school. He loves to study and is very intelligent, maybe all alien offspring are?

Gustav is fine with his mother's choice of keeping Fernando, but he is also aware that he and Patrica will be next in line to raise Fernando. In a way he is not so happy with that thought. Fernando will be older than Gustav's true heir, it might cause future conflicts.

So, there are several new builds in Galucca, and most central lots are now built on. One recent addition is the Muse Music Hall. It's a top notch lounge with a stage, dance floor and restaurant downstairs, and a bar upstairs, with a view down to the musicians performing. The palm trees in the background stands in the Love Garden nearby. Bross Stadium is just up the street, and Bono's Gym and the Town Hall just down a block.

The entrance is under the upper floor stairs/entrance, so I had to add those ropes just to force guests to use the middle bit of the stairs. A ticket office could be added, but right now I pretend the served food and drinks will cover the musicians' bill, too.

The interior is pretty simple but exclusive, with a touch of some older vibes. Let's say the Muse Music Hall already existed for a couple decades. This place will also get a bistro chef by time.

Then two musicians enter stage, the pretty famous bassist Anthony Sugar and the older Albert Higg playing the piano. Neither living in Galucca, but they both frequented Muse on several occasions.

Gustav and Patrica entered the dance floor, and Patrica is the one leading - nice! :)

On the big pic you can just about see the tables and bar upstairs.

Lady Lincia couldn't keep her eyes off the bassist, and it looks like her mother did notice what was going on. She felt bad about the upcoming marriage, but at the same time Lincia never protested to marry an older man, and Constance knew that Count Vladdow was a very good person.

The next day another wedding was on:

Patrica Slitcher was married to Count Gustav Pettonta of Galucca, by Priest Arthus Lavendula. After the ceremony, the guests ran outside to cheer the new couple. Gustav's mother and sister to the left, and to the right you see Chloe (Seylouse) & Gust Turmington, and Detch Moonster (Milton's dad) and Yvonne (Sacroville) Moonster (Milton's wife). Hm, actually the Pettontas and Moonsters avoid each other, Detch and Yvonne shouldn't really attend a noble wedding... what is the world coming to?

Ah, and although Ex-Countess Constance never was able to carry the traditional white earrings because Maria refused to let them go, Patrica was wearing them for the wedding. First and last time, ever?

Lots going on at the castle... and in Galucca. With only 30 years to go, next stop will be with the Seylouse family!
