[Yeart count 178] Although the Pettontas usually love the outdoors, they didn't buy a boat yet, and living far off the coast I doubt they ever will. But Count Gustav has taken up scuba diving :yahoo: More about that later.
The castle could need a slight upgrade, but I guess castles mostly stay the way they used to be more or less forever. The new Countess Patrica is not the typical fashion stylist, and she ain't snobby enough to insist on upgrading the indoor either.
Ex-Countess Constance has worked at Constant Hope Hospital up to now, but now she retired at 94. Count Gustav is on the Town Council and works with Politics. Countess Patrica manages the Muse Music Hall. Gustav and Patrica had a daughter, Coralyn, her only two traits yet are Excitable and Friendly. Not sure though, if Coralyn will be the main heir. In Galucca girls are now having the same rights as boys, of course, but noble families might be a bit more old fashioned...
The family recently had a visit by the local Photographer, Kenton Sloth. They took some official photos. Gustav and Patrica might get painted as well, according to traditions I think they should.
Patrica has not turned into a dress loving lady. She is a good person though, and being a Virtuoso might be her clearest talent. She plays the grand piano, and invites famous musicians to perform at Muse Music Hall.
Gustav is rather obsessed with the old Archer's Gauntlet. His dad and granddad used to run tournaments inviting Counts, Dukes and Lords from the distant areas. Gustav likes to keep this skill alive, but he also loves outdoors activities, so why not?
Ex-Countess Constance thinks the Gauntlet is due for a museum, or perhaps to be donated to some activity park.
Aw, I totally forgot to mention Fernando! You might recall that Constance found two alien toddlers at the castle gate, and kept only Fernando. He is now a teen, he is well aware that he is not a real Pettonta, and on his teen birthday he insisted on taking a new name: Fernando Pettonta 1-58. Yupp, 1-58 is his last name. It refers to the year he was born, 158 years after the first Pettontas founded Galucca.
Fernando has heard of the local Space Society. After those abductions and births took place many years ago, locals formed a group to investigate the existence and intentions of the aliens. There is a handful alien teens in Galucca, and the group find it well worth to learn more about their race.
And - lately several persons went missing in the Moon District. They lived at Seagull Cottage, and one by one they just disappeared. Some think they were abducted by aliens. Investigation was of course started by local Police, but Space Society obviously works in a different way.
The guy with glasses is their leader, Brian Brottington. You might recall his father the Photographer documenting the big catastrophe 90ya. Fernando often sneak in at the Alien Museum when this society gathers, and although they only accept adult members, he is allowed to be in the room, listening. Fernando will of course be a much appreciated member when he grows up.
The 5 on the right picture above: Peter Huston (Politician and Town Councilor who joined when his own dad went missing at Seagull Cottage), Brian Brottington (leader, Scientist at the Maritime Facility near Moon District), Burton Rivers (Business man, Ex-Countess Constance's nephew), Fernando Pettonta 1-58 (our man, yay), Ryan Silver (son of ex-leader of MSW, Vespula Silver).
A little later the Pettontas had their regular family meeting in the blue room. Blue is their signature colour, and Count Gustav is seated in the bluest chair of them all  - that's tradition. In this room they discuss their work as the head of Galucca.
"Stay connected" has been the Pettontas' motto since some while already, it means their primary goal should be according to the locals' needs. Especially Constance has lived after this motto, she respected all groups - rich and poor.
Gustav has now received a request from King Abryham, regent of the bigger area where Galucca is located. The King is waiting to die from old age, and his kingdom has no heir. It has been decided that a regional Count will be offered the Royal title! Gustav is not convinced, just very excited. Countess Patrica, still hating dresses, is not excited at all - LOL. We'll see when the old King Abryham dies...
Then - a sudden twist...
Again the ground was shaking! Another quake stroking Galucca? Was it a sign about huge changes to come? Would the ground collapse once more, making the Dump sink even lower?
Fernando was up in the southern tower, searching for a planet holding his origin. He did discover a new planet, and then boom!? In a strange way, Fernando felt comfortable with the quake.
The quake was very much noticeable, but it didn't last for long, and could not even be compared to the big catastrophe taking place 90ya (year count 110). Not much was damaged, and after a couple phone calls, everything went back to normal. Scientists said the quake was caused by volcanic underground activity, but that the big volcano didn't seem to come alive.
The next day Count Gustav joined the local Scuba Club at Turmington Dock, Ucca Island. This is where the club has its base. Quentin Freeman is the leader, he has bought the blue house on Ucca Island. The third man is the local popular Athlete, Paul Sacroville.
The Scuba Club is rather new, and except Quentin Freeman, the members are not very skilled yet. Tonight they went to dive at Dragon Passage, a very pretty diving area well known for its beautiful corals.
On his way back to Turmington Dock, Gustav got quite excited again about the Royal title. He is a down to earth guy, now even an underwater guy, and Patrica would obviously prefer staying just a Countess and not a Queen... but Gustav felt very proud just to think about their future... what would it be?
Oh, and what's that light back there at the Anglers' Club? Let's hope the Unicorn Hunters are in Galucca tonight! ;)
Next update: Seylouse family!
